it's new year eve!!

spent the whole day with my beloved ailing..

went to k box to k our hearts' out.. and had lots of fun discovering new songs and being high!!

haha.. looked as if there's a third part taking the pic of us right... haha.. pro..

get ready cos there's gonna be a lot of us in this post.. haha.. btw, after k-ing we made our way to marina and had dinner at waraku.. and thanks to my PR.. we got complimentary macha ice cream!!

after dinner.. we went window-shopping and we bought a pair of new shoe each.. and it's of the same design!! haha.. so much for the window shopping huh..

okie.. after walking for a while, we decided to wait for the fireworks to come up.. so we went to the stairs outside marina and chill.. we listened to songs.. talk.. and talk.. and talk..

talked till the rain started falling a few minutes after the first show of fireworks went off.. everyone was trying to get into the shelter and we seek shelter at subway, having our supper there as well..

at about 11.30pm, we see a lot of ppl outside subway moving very quickly towards the esplanade direction.. we decided to avoid the crowd.. by making our way home.. haha..

took the mrt and did the countdown on the mrt...

at the very last minute of the yr 2006, there was this old lady that wanted to get off the train at the very last minute.. and she used her head to stop the door from closing.. we were like.. OMG!! to look at the time on the train or to look at her.. in the end she was saved when the clock struck 12.. haha..

and of course, i made use of the opportunity to take a pic at 010107, 0000hr.. hehe..

alright.. in conclusion.. 2007 shall be a better year.. and i shall keep my resolution to myself for now.. until i fulfilled the resolution.. haha..

day 77..

the last day of work for the year 2006..

busy as many people are travelling back to hkg to spend the last moments of 2006..

today got 4 ppl took mc... so we are kind short handed at the counter.. in the end got no short break.. and it's continuous check in..

then there was this group of family.. one of the son's passport expired on the 9th of dec 06... and when we look at these kinda dates.. we will think that we are in the wrong year or something..

in the end the poor guy cannot go.. and we had to look for the bags from the baggage unit.. cos the father has to look for the key for the son to go home.. sad..

hmm.. mixed feeling.. but tmr is another day to look forward to..

day 76..

another day of late shift.. today is rather crowded.. crowded with interns.. working the same shift with me are allie, kelly and amanda..

although it seem like a fun day.. it started off sad.. my dad left for jakarta this morning.. and i sent him to the gate.. sad..

then because Terminal 1 canteen close.. all airport staff are suddenly deprieved of food.. that i had to eat cup noodles for lunch..

had a short break at mac with kelly, chi and lin.. they were talking about their bf stuff.. clubbing stuff.. and overseas trip.. and i felt super left out.. and i guess that kinda dampened my mood for the whole day.. until the hour before knock off time..

haha.. all the shots taken.. you can imagine the level of noise made by us..

day 75..

today is late shift.. today is rather slack day.. i was sitting at a rather hidden position.. so ppl can't really spot me from the queue..

so the time was spent singing songs with kelly.. and chatting..

then we went to giordano to shop.. got sale.. haha..


thought ma will fetch me home today.. but in the end had to buy my own dinner home... sad..

btw, i am exactly 19 yrs and 7 months old..

day 74..

suppose to go to malacca yesterday.. in the end trip cancelled cos of heavy rain..

and today did morning shift.. it's angeline's birthday.. but it was a bad day for her..

first flight.. there was this couple with their young daughter.. the guy bought something for the wife, but the wife din like it.. the guy got angry and throw the bag of thing at the wife.. HARD.. the wife got angry and throw back at him.. and it went on.. a commotion was created at the holding area and there were a lot of frightened face on the rest of the pax.. wondering if they will be sitting near this couple..

angeline went to tell them that they have to stop fighting if not they will be offloaded..

after a while.. the inflight service manager came out and tell us that they are throwing things at each other again onboard.. angeline got angry and pulled me in to offload them.. she went in and immediately she said to them: get off the plane now. haha.. i played a part in scolding the passenger and forcing them out of the plane.. you can really see the frightened faces of the rest of the pax that was sitting near the couple.. although it's wrong to scold and be rude to pax, it really a shiok feeling!! haha..

then on another flight, there was this pax that brought a golf club into the gate.. he was escorted by my colleague to the arrowbridge and was asked to wait for angeline to bring him to the aircraft... but he didn't wait.. and when the inflight service manager saw him with the club, she went to inform the captain. he was business class pax.. and the captain was a bit unfriendly la.. he was quite angry that we allowed the pax to come on board with the security item.. he went to the holding area to scold angeline.. and us.. then scolded our security staff.. and scolded the security screening staff..

then angeline can't take it... and she broke down.. then the engineer was like: eh, your ramp staff down le, you have to take over her duty.. then i'm like.. i dunno anything.. then he say.. just stand by her.. hmm.. okie.. so i just followed her instructions.. to hand over doc to captain.. and to check this and that.. and i had to get the club from the pax to put it in a box for check in.. then he was like: this stick cost a bomb. if it is in any way damage, i'll make you pay for it. and i took it out to the arrowbridge to wrap it up.. then have to bring it in again to show him how i wrap it and if it is safe.. my god..

it's really a bad day for a birthday gal...

after work, went for medi and pedicure with yixian.. to pamper ourselves before the year comes to an end..

haha.. express was not really that express afterall.. we spent about an hour and a half there doing our nails.. and slept on the super comfy massage chair while having our nails painted.. haha.. sounds like a tai tai life huh..

after that travelled to simei to have a family dinner..

my face looks damn big here.. haha..

day 73..

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

although i had to work, but it's not a bad day afterall!! i had the company of amanda and kelly and samantha to sing song with me at the counter.. and all the other colleagues to play with..

in addition to that.. i met up with ailing at the airport and ate at swensons!! hehe.. talked about BGR.. the followup on our lives.. and after dinner we went to mac to use the internet to start researching for our own big project that's coming up in march!! haha.. so exciting..


and christmas eve was also a working day.. worked at Mahbubani's place.. it was just a family dinner and i felt so out of place in the dining room, so i was always in the kitchen stoning.. lucky nelson called at the right time to kill my time.. cos after the call, i got busy.. haha.. but it's really nice to see their family creating the atmosphere for christmas.. and drinking champagne.. beef.. cherry jubilees.. and the setting of the dinner is so restaurant like.. my.. how i wish i could be part of such family...

day 72..

night shift today.. work was alright.. with so many fun colleagues to tide me through this period of internship, how can it be not alright right?

heard that my dad is coming back tonight.. but.. the flight no and arrival time is a mystery to me.. i ended up waiting for him in Terminal 2 thinking he will come back on silkair like he always does.. and i ended up waiting for about 2 hours.. and fell asleep on the chair..

when i woke up, my dad called and say he's in Terminal 1.. he took adam air.. and says the space is cramp and the food sucks.. haha..

it's nice to have my dad coming back.. and i know that i'm going to have a hell time again... cos mom's gonna make use of his presence and say all the bad things about me.. i can't believe i'm facing politics even at home.. sigh..

day 71..

late shift today.. went shopping for chi jun and kelly for perfume..

then the last flight i went into the aircraft to take names of the transit passengers.. not my first time but it's really nice to be in the aircraft.. regardless of the reason i'm inside.. during the hour of the transit, it's a mess in the aircraft.. the cleaners.. the changing shift of the cabin crew.. and the ground staff checking the passengers.. and the passengers themselves moving around..

then back in the office, sam, amanda alison and i were quite high and into the christmas mood.. we were singing christmas songs.. and dancing.. haha.. and talk about the movie we watched yesterday..

day 70..

morning shift again.. but today's duty is quite different from other morning shift duty.. i did departure duties the whole day and i seem to be busier than the usual days..

after every flight i came to the counter to assist.. then back to the next flight..

there was this flight, a couple and their child was the last pax.. they had security item with them, so they had to check in one of their back with the security item, and they have a baby stroller.. time is running out.. and they just left without holding on to their baby.. i had to hold the baby and ask him to run faster.. when we reach the aircraft, the door is actually closed!! i was so shock!! apparently the engineer hear wrongly and closed the door before the last pax entered the plane.. and the couple just entered the plane without holding their baby.. when i push the baby's hand off my hand and ask him to go in, he started crying.. haha..

and then the next flight, i escorted the last pax into the plane and handed over to the cabin crew a jacket that was left behind. when i turn around i saw a pax walking towards me.. gave me another shock!! i thought i didn't clear the holding room and he was left behind. in the end, we realise that he is the owner of the jacket and he came out of the door that was suppose to be closed.. my god.. scary man..

hectic day but interesting.. saw evelyn tan with her kid and her mom, ms choi hoi san and her family, as well as the mensa A1 chendol uncle and auntie with their families going to hkg for holiday.. haha.. so cool..

day 69..

morning shift again.. honestly, everyday there's a lot of special things that happens.. like how my boarding pass printer will break down..

and how i checked in ms zhang wei.. haha..

quite funny.. she doesn't seem to remember that i'm on internship..

day 68..

long day.. really long.. i worked.. starting from the first flight all the way to the last flight of the day.. 530am to 700pm.. OT.. my god.. tired.. but very exciting..

CX short of staff.. plus the columbo flight was very full.. so i volunteered to do OT..

ended up missing FBMA meeting for this..

day 67...

morning shift again!! man.. busy with all the over booked flights again..

but all the busy moments are the times that are really exciting.. seeing how fast everyone is working to clear the queue.. co-operation is important..

met up with ailing at night.. after i rushed my way through FBMA meeting minutes.. talked a lot and we have decided to do something big!! haha.. keep in suspense first.. planning in progress... haha..

all the talks.. sigh.. we girls seem to have endless problems and troubles..

went to sheraton hotel for a visit yesterday.. had a super full and laughty high tea.. then meet up with xiu and sha for dinner.. got stood up by nelson again... we talked about plans 2 years later.. and about each other's future.. hmm..

day 66..

night shift.. the usual happenings.. and samantha and i are planning for a movie outing on next thursday!!

flights has been quite heavily overbooked.. and the counter staff are the ones that handle all the shit..

had to do my tkt stats.. lucky steven was there to help..

after that had dinner with him and karen and sharmaine.. =>

went to vivocity with my brother today..

bought him a new bag.. and bought myself a top from forever 21, and a jacket from topshop..

had late lunch at thai express.. sigh.. if only i have a boyfriend that will go out with me like my brother..


spent a great day.. only to come home and get another round of scolding for nothing..

bad day yesterday snowballed till today..

went to fetch my brother from the airport.. kinda angry with him for coming back so late.. and left me alone with that woman to suffer under her hands.. my god..

at night went out with my ex colleague..


it's her birthday tmr.. early celebration for her..

day 65..

the day started okie.. amanda and i wore the same shirt and shorts to work.. in the name of fun.. haha...
so many people was waiting to change in the morning... so we shared one changing room and chi chi peeked in!! haha.. we were making a lot of noise..

but the day got bad.. kinda got scolded by the tour leader because the security wasn't doing his job of controlling the crowd..

then got this weird tour leader who wanted to check in all the member's bags under her name..

and then there was this group of family.. 25 of them all crowded in front of all counter with their trolleys of lugguage.. blocking the way.. then when my supervisor ask them to move to one side, the stupid man scolded her old spinster.. and it was quite loud.. i thought it was very rude of them la.. disgracing singaporeans.. i cannot take it... then went to explain to the stupid guy wad my supervisor is trying to do and then they said she's trying to make things inconvenient for them.. and before they left i heard they secretly took pics of our counter and my supervisor.. dunno wad they wanna do man..

i just quarrelled badly with my mom.. over what? because i forgot to run the washing machine. and because of that she had to say things like she sees that i'll nv be able to make it big in future.. and all the superly superly negative things that i believe no other parent will ever ever say to their child. no chance for explanation.. and when i tried to.. i got slapped.. a couple of times.. i'm quite discouraged to stay in this house le la..

omg.. bad day...

day 64..

today is another no mood to work day.. until i saw someone, i got even more excited that i cannot work.. haha..

guess who!! that's right!! patty hou.. jay chou's ex girlfriend.. haha.. i told you i'm related to jay chou somehow.. she's very nice.. there was some problem with the ticket.. and she was held up at our counter for about half an hour.. then i went over with her boarding pass.. and she so nicely said "no trouble at all!!" and signed for me.. haha.. then my security helped me make another request.. to take pic.. once again she was very nice, and took with me!! haha..

this is like the 'high' moment of the day..

by night, i'm already like half dead. went to work at Mahbubani's place.. and the dinner ended super late this time la.. it ended at 12 plus, i send eunice back and by the time i reach home was close to 1.30am.. tmr working morning shift again!! so i think i might as well dun sleep tonight..

busy day.. full flight.. working on empty stomach is quite hard to bear..

got new assignment.. to retype and update the CX staff contact list.. haha..

finally got a chance to rest today!!

while working at the paperwork.. i notice something weird about the com..

i asked wad happened to the com.. my airport manager says.. it can only happen in CX.. haha..

day 62..

i've been given important task.. to type out ALL the forms that CX is using in soft copy.. drawing all the boxes, tables, and all the alignment takes time man..

you know, when the 4 flights are all full when you are on duty, you get tired out easily? haha..

went home.. sleep for 2 hours.. then gotta go and fetch my sis from the airport.. come back.. change for a wedding dinner with my mom...

i hate it when she compares me with other ppl.. i feel that i've done a lot for myself, for the family.. but she doesn't seem satisfied with it.. thinking back, i've really done more than what i think i should.. wadever she say is right, and i'm wrong.

forget it la. i dun wanna explain.

day 61..

two off days.. let's update about wed..

went k-ing with amanda at marina!!

so much emotion put into singing!! hha..

then at night i had meeting at conrad.. look at the christmas tree in there!!

and today? morning shift lo.. it's the start of 5 days marathon of morning shift.. tired.. but got reward!! haha.. mr lens gwee from laguna country club gave us a treat at the club... japanese food!! haha.. the bill went up to about 150 bucks.. but good food man.. haha..

alright.. time to sleep!!

day 60..

having a bad time with the ticket stats today.. haha.. any mistake made, i will need to rewrite a new piece of the form.. and i rewrote about 12 times.. and when i photocopy the form, the machine broke down..

suppose to leave at 7.. end up leaving at 8.. hmm..

we gonna be busy busy for the next few weeks.. so busy to the extend that i, one person was handling the whole flight!! business, economy and group counter.. because the rest of the staff were not down until 45 mins later... can u imagine!! and it was a full flight!! hha..

challenging job.. but i'm having fun..

day 59..

did night shift.. full flight.. really tiring.. near to the late evening, there was 3 flight.. it was quite a mess..

for the columbo flight, there were 5 cases of excess handcarry.. and the person who charged them was my airport manager.. damn zai.. he just looked at the bag, hold it in his hand, and say, "5 kg excess. charge" and this caused a slight delay to the flight..

and the 4 .30 flight was delayed till 6.15pm.. so there was quite a bit of commotion at the gate..

the 6.30pm flight was also delayed due to engine problem, till 8.45pm before it actually took off. there was a lot of unhappy pax at the gate.. and it was the last flight out for us from sin to hkg. the worse thing is: the engine generator was giving out black smoke. and this pax was screaming : "i'm not going to get onto this flight!! it's not safe!!" this created a lot of uncertainty in the rest of the pax. but the captain was kind enough to meet the pax with the inflight service manager, and let them know the full details of what happened and what is going to happen. one of our business class pax was also very nice to help persuade the pax to get on the flight. he said: "cathay pacific is the best airline of the year. i believe they will not allow us to travel on an unsafe plane and ruin their own reputation. i have faith in them." wow.. touched man..

before the 6.15 flight departs, the arrival flight got another case. a pax fainted in the air. i was in the office, listening to the captain talking to the officer.. asking for assistance upon arrival.. that was like so cool la!! i watched the channel u 10pm show about the airline industry, seeing how the captain speak to the ground staff... but i nv got to know where the msg go to and how it is settled. so i witness how the officer called for doctor to be present upon arrival, which was estimated to be in 10 mins time.. and how the officer have to handle all the flight's delay paperwork, communication with the captains, with the destination officer and all.. tough work man..

after all the rush hour, i still got to go ticket stats for 2 flights.. suppose to end work at 8.. in the end ot till 10 plus..

and we celebrated the birthday of karen.. whose birthday is tmr.. haha.. the cake is nice!!

day 58..

slept quite late yesterday.. came back at about 7.30pm.. had my dinner.. then it was work time..

and i woke up at 4.30am for work.. quite a relax day except for the mid morning flight..

got this weird business class pax.. i only got seats in the centre or individual window seats left. he insist on having two window seats next to each other.. dun have means dun have.. wad can i do right... then he complain about being in business class but not having the choice of seats he wants.. wad to do.. i can't possible add another chair by the window right? haha.

but lucky i got the support of my supervisor.. that's wad i call a good supervisor, siding their colleagues no matter wad happen and not scold them in front of the pax..

going to work tonight at waraku.. sunday.. man.. it's gonna get busy..

day 57..

lucky today's shift is a short one in the afternoon.. has nv liked afternoon shift.. but due to the late night yesterday.. today's shift is the best for me.. haha..

the afternoon was neither slow nor fast.. but somehow there was a lot of gossips and talks about last night's dnd..

finally, i finish typing the minutes for the FBMA meeting due quite some time ago.. haha..

day 56..

today, i shall not talk about work, but about the DnD that i just attended.. CATHAY PACIFIC DINNER AND DANCE 2006!!!

my nice aunt lend me her car for the night.. and she actually took the trouble to drive the car to airport, park it there, and take public transport to her next destination.. so nice of her.. thanks aunt!!

the next thing.. after work everyone was so busy changing, and getting ready for the dinner.. i was so not feeling well and so fed up with my hair that i was just like.. omg. pissed.

then, the 5 of us wearing hanbok (korean costume), kimono, victorian, and mexican costume, walked all the way from our office, into the arrival area... down to basement one, then to the car. that is like the most embarassing part of the whole night man..

next is the drive to trader's hotel.. everywhere is jammed up.. and i got two navigators searching the better way to get to the hotel.. and in the end, of course, we got there safely..
