day 15..

the end of the first week of OJT.. i'm enjoying myself so far.. though still trying to adjust my sleeping time..

did transfer today.. though it was a boring job before work... like just sit there and wait for people to come over when transiting.. but actually there's a lot more to learn..like the baggage link from other airlines to ours.. and the procedures and all.. hmm..

there was a crowd at the counter.. then i started to panic.. so i forgot to swipe the passport.. i didn't realise.. until when my mentor was teaching me the code to check the list of pax whose passport details are not updated.. as she said " when you enter, you should not see any names..", she pressed enter and there was a name.. i was like OMG!!! then i went out looking for the pax but to no avail.. then no choice i called the info to page for the the pax.. luckily, he came back.. if not i have to send a msg to the departure staff and inconvenience them.. phew..

after work.. was leaving le.. but helen had to talk to be about next friday.. the company is celebrating 60th anniversary... then she's getting samantha and i to wear our uniform to represent the present staff at the celebration.. at a golf club... IN THE MORNING AT 6.30.. omg.. dunno why so early.. haha..

at night worked at waraku.. then after work went to tamako for supper with yukari and the part timers.. by then, i was already suffering from super lack of sleep.. plus they are pushing shochu to me... hmm..

day 14..

today's duty was also at the counter.. but had to do a departure duty for one of the flights.. then last night attended the FBMA annual dinner.. by the time i reach home, it was about 1 plus.. and by the time i am ready to hit the pillows, it was about 2. and then, i had to get up at 4.. so kinda hard to keep my eyes open at the counter.. but one good thing is, i had a lot of pax to check in, therefore keeping me awake.. haha..

then there was a mistake that i did.. this pax booked a morning flight to hkg, and a night flight from hkg to bkk. but he missed the flight due to a meeting, and decided to take the noon flight to bkk straight and skip hkg. i did the normal check in procedure, but before he left, he said, " i hope the ppl in bkk knows i'm stopping there for good cos the boarding pass says sin to hkg." then i was like.. "something is wrong". and lucky for me, i was fast to inform my mentor and she went after him, and lucky he was not very irritated. cos he is the highest tier member of Cathay.
scary..

then there was this pax who has excess baggage.. then i was telling her she had to pay for the excess.. then she start talking non stop in canto, without giving me a chance to talk. i can't understand her, she can't understand me. haha.. it was quite funny.. i can only understand "um goi", which means thanks. haha.. then i went to ask my supervisor.. then she was like.. flight not full so can give more waiver for the baggage.. but after the extra waiver given, she still need to pay for 4 kg.. and so we went on talking to each other without understanding each other for 45 mins.. haha..

that's about all for today's work..

now let me update on yesterday's dinner..

we met the shatec members.. and then i met sha also.. she's representing peter knipps. the youth member sat at one table.. it was a buffet dinner.. german theme.. the food is not really to my liking.. but that day i was already not feeling well.. so didn't eat much.. then stupid ming keep "suan"ing me.. say i dun eat much cos i want to diet.. but that's also part of the reason la.

then alan was sabotage to go on stage to play a game.. 5 guys to be sitted.. and 5 girls to walk around the guys. when the music stop, the girls are suppose to go to the nearest guy and take an item mentioned by the mc. haha.. in the end.. look what happen to alan...

yap.. that's right.. in the end he end up topless.. beltless.. one shoe less.. one sock less... haha... and the worst thing is.. the girl that ended up next to him is suppose to take the item off from him.. so his shirt and belt was taken off by the girls!! haha.. and that was funny cos at the end, he's suppose to look for the girls and get his things back and see who wears them back first.. haha.. of course he din win. =p

day 13..

did morning shift today.. the 5.30am shift.. force myself to sleep early yesterday.. (although11pm wasn't very early) and woke up at 4 to start putting on my make up and attempting to bun my hair.. but.. in the end.. ponytail.. haha..

today whole morning sitting at the counter.. starting a bit dunno what to do.. then after a while, got the hang of it.. quite fun actually.. enjoyed.. and morning shift, time passes quite fast!!

then today i saw the HK actor.. if you watch scv, the 9pm hotel show, jiu dian feng yun, the zheng yongfa came to check in at my counter!!!! AHH!!!! haha.. although not some popular star, but still, i'm watching that show now so still kinda excited to see any star, and the thing is that, he was at my counter!! hehe..

in the afternoon, we did the ticket stats and then waited for 2pm to punch out.. sharifah was so nice to give me a ride home.. hehe.. that's because we stay one block away from each other..

alright.. gonna rest for a while, before i head for conrad for the FBMA annual dinner tonight.. omg, i forgot tmr i got morning shift duty again!! lack of sleep...

day 12..

another day of hell with my shoes.. however all the 'sightseeing' of the internal of the aircraft made up for it.. today, we saw the jumbo aircraft boeing 744!! it's the plane that has two storeys...

me on a first class seat!! never in my life will be be able to fly on that seat man...

and yes.. i got his name too!! FORSYTHE MURRAY DANIEL.. hehe.. so exciting!!

by the end of the day.. my feet was almost dying...

oh!! btw, i was at the arrival belt, when one of the pax came to me and said," thanks for the service on board." .. =>

day 11..

first day of OJT.. wow.. happening.. haha.. first day already i got to do departure duties.. but the shoes was hell..

departure duties was as easy as it seem to be.. it can get stressful when the time of the departure of the flight is nearing.. and your pax are still not in the boarding gate.. hmm.. gotta get used to it i guess.. =>

nevertheless.. today was a super enriching day.. i really saw a lot of things that i've never ever seen before.. cool..

day 10..

last day of training.. next week will be starting our shift work with our mentor le.. so excited and looking forward to it man..

today was a lot of walking.. it was like an excursion.. haha..

this place was so happening man.. we watched the whole process of the plane drving into the 'parking lot'.. and the pilot has to aim accurately lo.. like the wheels to the lines on the ground.. amazing.. then saw the arrowbridge connected to the doors of the plane..

and then, we illegally went into the aircraft!! haha.. cos we only got temp pass.. which only allow us to get access to area B and D.. but the arrowbridge and the aircraft is area C.. we were so sneaky la.. hehe.. then.. we went to the cockpit!! COOL!!!!

we spotted this screen that says.."waste tank status.".. haha.. so this is where they monitor the amount of waste that the pax release on the plane in the air.. haha..

amanda and i at the waiting area behind the departure gate.. we spotted a 'suspicious pax' who kept looking at us.. haha.. then there were many 'trans' as it was a flight to bangkok.. haha.. then at the very last min, there was this pax who lost her passport.. then it was already close to the departure time.. so the ramp co-ordinator had to run about.. and get the engineers to dig out her baggage and put the 'offloaded baggage' tag.. it was so crucial lo.. haha.. but then it was interesting to be able to observe the possible happenings at the departure area.. then when the plane left.. we saw this man still sitting at the waiting area.. all of us got a shock man.. thought this guy nv board the plane.. then he turn out to be one of the security.. phew..

next stop: SATS inflight catering centre 2..

all 10 of us.. plus the driver and joycelyn had to squeeze in this 'big' car.. haha... the front was the driver and joycelyn, then the middle part was amanda, kelly, lin and myself... and the back was the 6 small size ones.. then we said this is like the plane.. first class in front, business class in the middle, and the last one is economy class.. damn funny..

we went to tour around the place and saw the process of the meals being prepared and how they are transported to the aircraft.. but first, all of us had to wear.. THIS-->

we were in the refrigerator store.. and it was cold... haha.. look at our stiff smiles...

this is a cable car.. for the pushcarts you see the air-stewardess push on the plane.. it helps to transport these carts around the different areas of the building.. look at how advance technology is..

it was a very fruitful day.. and i saw auntie may.. the auntie i always see when i work at the SATS catering centre 1...

rushed over to conrad hotel for a meeting with mr cheong.. FBMA president.. only alan, junie, chai ping and myself was around.. and we were 'invited' to the OSCAR'S for a complimentary dinner.. haha... we were like joking about a free dinner before the meeting, then we really got a free dinner.. hehe.. and mr cheong said he would usually offer dinner after the meeting.. looks like we are in for a big treat this time!! worth the membership fee..

today we had our hands-on practical test.. think i didn't do very well.. but nvm.. i'll learn all the way.. then there's the safety test.. oh man..

but then amanda and i got the chance to check in pax.. as in real pax.. yeah!! so exciting!! and it didn't appear to be as difficult as it sounded.. i'm beginning to enjoy more of this intership..
